ABOUT CAPTAIN ROB

Rob Barnes is passionate about all things fishing and helping you have a great time on the water.  His joy for fishing started during boyhood while fishing with his dad.  As life progressed, fishing would remain a hobby and play an important role in connecting him with the outdoors. 

After graduating from college, Rob started regularly attending Lake St. Clair Walleye Association meetings with his dad and became more involved in fishing education, conservation projects, and friendly fishing competition.  Fast forward serval years and Rob has served on the club’s Board of Directors for several terms and has helped shaped the club’s strategic goals and increase angler participation.  He is passionate about sharing his love for the outdoors and being on the water with his clients. 

Rob holds his USCG Master up to 100 ton Captain's License.  He operates all trips out his 2020 Starcraft STX 2050, powered by Yamaha outboards.  With a heavy one-piece bottom plate and 19 degree dead rise at the transom, the STX is one of the most big water capable aluminum multispecies boats to ever be produced.  Couple these capabilities with the latest in marine electronics and technology- fish will have a difficult time hiding!
 

Rob views the pursuit of fishing as a lifelong journey and takes and educational approach to all guided trips.  Rob is a family man and is a proud husband and father.  In his spare time he hosts Walleye World Podcast and writes for several outdoor publications.
